New Galloway Station

The next notable structure was where the line crossed the road at New Galloway. This settlement consisted of a post office, a few houses and the station, though it clearly also served several local farms and habitations. Click on any image for a more detailed view (generally aproximately 20kb).

1. The original station building as been sold as a dwelling.

2. The platforms and trackbed have been converted to gardens, but can still be seen, despite the young birches growing out of them.

3. Looking west along the trackbed, the station building is off the picture to the left. The road overbridge can be seen at the far end of the platforms.
